One baby was strapped on my back, while the other crawled in the playpen. I worked 12 hour days, for months, sanding and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! We were getting close to being done, yet it was still a long distance away. It would take lots of time and a love to shop. I rented a booth in the market at my local location and also sold items there. I could outgrow the area because I had plenty of pieces that I needed. I hosted open houses in my home where one thousand people would visit on a single weekend. they could purchase anything on the first level. Growing Days was founded in my house. My business was not only thriving but I was growing my sweet family too. It was essential to find the right balance to me. I wanted to be both a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days seemed like the best match. Nora joined us in 2013 and became our fourth baby. My company was doing well but I wanted a rest. I got away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy more quality time with my family. That was precisely the thing I needed. After a couple of months, the phone began to ring. People contacted me asking for help with decorating their homes and interiors. A majority of those calling me were people who had visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. I started taking on some clients at a time taking my time but it didn't take for long to have multiple accounts and was running an entire home improvement business. If you'd said to me that this company of mine would turn into an idea for a TV show on DIY Network I probably would have laughed. Indeed, I am laughing slightly when I recall the episode.
